Are We Fishing For People Or Just Fishing Around?

"Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Mark, 1:17)

Evangelism was the primary reason Jesus called His disciples, and that call remains His central mission today, for all those who actually claim to be His followers.

There is a beautiful, and amazing place called grace, at the foot of the cross of Christ.  It is called grace, because it can never be deserved or earned. While the price of God's grace is free to us, it cost Jesus everything, including His very life.  "Come cling to the cross and live. Fall on the cross and live. With your final heart beat, kiss this old world good by, and fly to Jesus and live"

PRAYER: Father, where life hangs in the balance and faithful hearts gather together to pray, I know you are there. Lord, if it is your will, I ask that you make your presence known. You are the one who can reach down from up high with healing hands, the maker of miracles. I believe in you, Lord, so I consider nothing to be impossible by your touch. Sickness and death, they flee your gaze. All life, both new and restored, they come from you. I believe, Lord! So, just as the woman touched Jesus' garment and was healed by her faith, I reach out to you on behalf of a soul that has been subdued by an afflicted host. I ask for healing, while I submit to your will. I trust in you, Lord, to work for the good of those of us who love you. I love you, Lord, and I will praise you, always. Not just in joy, but in mourning, I look to you in good faith that your purpose is right for all things. No amount of suffering or loss can take away from the blessings you give. So, Lord, in humble adoration for you, I request healing for the life that now has no voice and waits for you in peril. Thank you, Lord, for your attentiveness to my plea. May it be your will to apply your mercy and be given praise for it. Oh, God, I give you all praise, always. Amen!

Believe it or not, this is a true story. Some have described it as amazing, but it is simply one that has given me such hope and inspiration over the years. May it do the same for you ...

In 1966, there was an elderly woman who was unable to attend Church due to physical problems. She was considered a shut-in member of her Church. She was also considered a "Prayer Warrior," since she was known for her effective prayers, lifted out of her suffering and solitude.

She contacted the parents of a child that was born 100% blind at birth. The child was almost one year old. She told the parents that, while in prayer, she was led to suggest to them that they have the child anointed and prayed over in the manner prescribed scripturally (James 5:14-16). She also told them that she believed the child would do great things for the Lord.

Resting In The Shadow Of The Almighty

Photo: Resting In The Shadow Of The Almighty

Are We Taking On More Responsibly And Cares Than God Ever Intended For Us To Take On?

When I saw this photo below, I immediately thought of all those times when I ran ahead of the Lord, and had taken on far more responsibility than He ever intended that I should take on.

Then, I thought of all those other times when I "Thought" I had given my troubles, concerns and worries over to the Lord, only to soon discover that I had actually taken those heavy burdens back again, burdens that I was never meant to carry in the first place.

Read here in Matthew 11:28-30, what Jesus has to say to those who are His spiritual children about carrying heavy burdens.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

So, let's us immediately come to Jesus with our burdens, lay them at the foot of His cross, leave them there and find rest for our weary souls.

When we see our children struggling to carry heavy and unnecessary burdens, we pray that they would turn to us for help, how much more then, does our Lord Jesus desire to help us?

God Alone Is My Refuge, Strength And Fortress. I Will Give My Burdens Over To Him, Where I Will Find His Strength, Rest And Peace.

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty" (Psalm, 91:1).

Imagine looking through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. Life might be a dark and dreary tunnel to you. Yet, the Holy Spirit can see the light that is God, waiting for you at the end. All you must do to find your way is to follow the Holy Spirit. He will lead you through that tunnel and into the light, to a place Jesus called, "Paradise." (Luke 23:43).

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." - 2 Corinthians 3:17

Is There a Mountain in Your Life That Needs To be Removed?

The Great Faith of a Roman, Centurion, Soldier.

"When Jesus heard this, He was amazed at the Centurion soldier, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in all of Israel.”
