JCMessiah Highlights: The Flashback Top 5 (3-17-2012)

Greetings!

Here are the top 5 posts favored by the community at "Jesus Christ The Messiah" (JCMessiah.org) during the week ending March 17th, 2012, starting with #5.  Let's flashback together, all the way to #1, and feel free to forward these highlights to your family, friends, and others who might like to receive them.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to help guide me through terribly challenging times. Lord, I know that if it weren't for the Spirit, there would be very little standing in the way of of me making so many mistakes. What can a man do on his own, really, without you Lord? I accomplished nothing without you, and I would continue to be the greatest source of my own undoing without you throwing up red flags once in a while. I have learned to stop and pay close attention when those red flags appear. It is by your grace and mercy that I have been saved from myself. I know, Lord, that the Holy Spirit is available to all people who accept you into their hearts. Therefore, I will not ask you to be with them. You're already with them, Lord. I will simply THANK YOU for sending your Holy Spirit to be ready for them, once they come to realize that they need you in their lives as well. Thank you, Father! Amen!

People often come and go in our lives, just like the clouds that pass overhead each day. While in sight, we will likely see them take on many shapes and sizes. Yet, if we could see them beyond our normal range of vision, we would probably not even recognize them in comparison. Many factors play into their form, their size, and their direction. However, we as human beings have relatively nothing to do with it. God is the wind and the weather.

With people, even though their lives might be as dynamic as the clouds, they are different. They think, and they can make choices for their lives. To some degree, you can also influence them in every way.

Some of us will stop and watch a cloud in wonder on occasion, loving God for nature. We must love people, though, more than nature or any cloud. We should interact with them. We should encourage them in the direction that God's wind takes us across the skies ... toward Heaven.

To fully trust in the Spirit is to gain insight that can be like fresh snow that falls around where you live. It captures the impressions of every creature that passes over it, from a dog's paw to a grown man's shoe. It reveals so much about what happens around you, what you cannot see, and what you MIGHT only hear in part.

The Holy Spirit IS the Spirit of absolute truth, able to reveal all sources of confusion and deceipt, including within ourselves.

"Do not put away riches for yourselves on Earth. Moths and rust can destroy them. Thieves can break in and steal them. Instead, put away riches for yourselves in Heaven. There, moths and rust do not destroy them. There, thieves do not break in and steal them. Your heart will be where your riches are." - The words of Jesus in Matthew 6:19-21 (NIRV)

Why should we make thieves go through all of the time and trouble of invading our lives. We should box up those moths and rusting items. Let's ship them as a convenient care package, directly to the thieves in our lives. We can attach a note that says, "God loves me for doing this, He loves you too, and He hopes you will love Him back one day." You never know. We might make an impression. We might even find our moths and rust undeliverable, left on our doorstep with a new note attached that says, "Return to Sender with Blessings: Sinner no longer at residence."

Yes, I'm trying to be funny again, in one respect. However, in the foreground, Christ's words are a serious matter.

Where is your heart?

"If you love me, you will obey what I command. I will ask the Father. And He will give you another Friend to help you and to be with you forever. The Friend is the Spirit of truth. The world can't accept Him. That is because the world does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him. He lives with you, and He will be in you. ... the Father will send the Friend in my name to help you. The Friend is the Holy Spirit. He will teach you all things. He will remind you of everything I have said to you." - Jesus said these words from John 14:15-26 (NIRV)

Are you led by the Holy Spirit? If you do not obey what Christ commands; then the Holy Spirit cannot be with you. Once the Holy Spirit IS within you, then all things will be made apparent, because you will no longer be blind to truth. You will even start to accept the wisdom in how God answers prayer. Without the Holy Spirit, some people go as far as to doubt or curse God like rebellious children.

In John 7:38-39, Jesus said ...

"'Does anyone believe in me? Then, just as Scripture says, streams of living water will flow from inside him.' When He said this, He meant the Holy Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus would receive the Spirit later. Up to that time, the Spirit had not been given. This was because Jesus had not yet received glory." (NIRV)

Pray! Reach out from your heart to God. Repent of your sins. Tell God that you love Him and that you want to obey Him. Ask Him to show you the way. He sends the Holy Spirit to you. You will be able to understand what I am saying. Trust that you won't be sorry, when you do these things.
