JCMessiah Highlights: The Flashback Top 5 (1-7-2012)

Greetings!

Here are the top 5 posts favored by the community at "Jesus Christ The Messiah" (JCMessiah.org) during the week ending January 7th, 2012, starting with #5.  Let's flashback together, all the way to #1 ...

What do you mean, "scruples"; isn't a cereal?

Just for reference, Dictionary.com defines "scruples" as a moral or ethical consideration or standard that acts as a restraining force or inhibits certain actions."

When it comes to using their mouths, some people could definitely stand to keep their mouths busy doing something else ... like chewing cereal instead of making it clear that they have no scruples in what they say to (and around) others ... including children (it is said that one bad example makes way for another).

Jesus said in Matthew 15:11 (NIRV), "What goes into your mouth does not make you 'unclean.' It's what comes out of your mouth that makes you 'unclean.' "

Scruples might NOT be a cereal, but if only it could be ... It would probably be easier to swallow for some than others.

Food for thought ... Please *SHARE* my ~Post~ at breakfast (pun, certainly intended), OR at any meal for that matter.  :-)

"I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is." - Forrest Gump

You can't hide it, whether you have it within you or not.  I'm talking about that light, the source of love within you.  Even Forrest Gump can tell.  From Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus said "v16: ... let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will praise your Father who is in heaven."

You know the part in The Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:12 (NIRV) where it says "Forgive us our sins, just as we also have forgiven those who sin against us." AND "And forgive us our debts,  as we also have forgiven our debtors." ?? (depending on what Bible you use, these only a few of them) ...

Before you work on the part where you forgive others who have wronged you, make sure your pride is in check and NOT keeping you from recognizing or admitting to yourself WHO wronged WHO. It is SO much easier to be the victim that gets to show grace by letting others off of the hook, by forgiving them (without saying a word to them directly), as opposed to having the humility to recognize and own your own faults toward seeking forgiveness. Don't let enough time pass to let denial rewrite the history in your mind, effectively lying to yourself enough to where you believe it.

Hey, make peace with people when / if you can, particularly those YOU have wronged. Trust me, while it is very uncomfortable at first, it can be the most refreshing and liberating thing you can do for your eternal soul.

As I walked alone this morning, outside in the dark and cold, along city streets for the mile it takes to reach my bus stop, I took in many sights and sounds. I couldn't help but stop and notice...

What man created IN this world, it still does not take away from the magnificence OF this world that God has created.  Any time that I get over my own thoughts and look past the mess that we made ... enough to identify and admire God's living and active creation; I feel His presence even more.

*Share* this with others, so that they too will consider taking at least a few moments to see God through His many wonders.

God loves you so much!  He sent His Son for you, Jesus.  Jesus is the one who lived and died, just so that you could be saved and know how deeply God loves you.  If you focus on His love and BELIEVE in His power, then you will not only have His strength to get through today ... You will be able to trust that you really don't have to worry about tomorrow, AND He made a promise that you will live forever one day in a place where there are no more worries.

I wrote these words based on John 3:16 and Matthew 6:34.  They are for all who are lost, seeking, and need to hear them.  Share the good news!
