JCMessiah Highlights: The Flashback Top 5 (3-3-2012)

Greetings!

Here are the top 5 posts favored by the community at "Jesus Christ The Messiah" (JCMessiah.org) during the week ending March 3rd, 2012, starting with #5.  Let's flashback together, all the way to #1, and feel free to forward these highlights to your family, friends, and others who might like to receive them.

"When I see the sun, I imagine that it is where God is sitting on His throne with His feet resting upon the clouds, watching over all of us."

This is a quote from my 9 year old daughter.  She came up with it from the back seat one day, while we were out picking up groceries.  I was pleased, so I asked her if she is starting to compose insightful observations about God (like she sees I often do when I write).  With a mature eagerness, she answered "Yes!"

There are many creative quotes from which to draw in the world.  However, when something like this comes from the innocent mind of a child (one who has sincerely chosen God early in life), you have to marvel ... even if you're not the proud father.

I asked my daughter if I could share this with all of you.  The imagery (even if not to be taken as literal) is SO useful for the purpose of admiring God's greatness and loving observance of His creation AND mankind within it.  The quote above was straight from the pride-free mind of a child in Christ for your eyes to behold.  It is also affirmation that every prayer, every Word of scripture shared, and every lesson and example in between from parent to child ... It all matters!

Love God!!!

If you expect to be able to rid your life of the filth of sin; then you need to stop rolling around in the mud of the world.  The things in which you take delight now, the joy of salvation will fill that void many times over IF you just expel them out of your life for good.  Consider this ...

"Do not be joined to unbelievers. What do right and wrong have in common?  Can light and darkness be friends?  How can Christ and Satan agree?  What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?  How can the temple of the true God and the statues of other gods agree?

We are the temple of the living God.  God has said, 'I will live with them. I will walk among them. I will be their God. And they will be my people.  So come out from among them       and be separate ... Do not touch anything that is not pure and clean.       Then I will receive you.  I will be your Father.       You will be my sons and daughters ...'"

-- Some of Paul's words to the Church in Corinth, according to 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (NIRV)

What purpose does it serve for a man to run out his door toward a need that is beyond his sight, only to stumble over his neighbor who lies unfed and unclothed at his gates?

We span the globe.  Most of us are separated by miles, even by continents.  We have come together to love one another.  We have also come together to learn the importance of noticing and loving those who might be only right next door.

A liar TRIES to make a fool out of a believer, one that lives in Truth.  In the end, though, the liar will make a fool of himself.  This might even make a believer out of the liar.  Yet, unless the liar repents and starts to live in Truth, then he will remain a fool by deceiving himself.  He will be lost, no less than before the time that he became a believer.  Just like any believer who does NOT live in Truth, he is lying to himself.  What's worse is that he is lying to God.  >> God has no place in Heaven for liars, even those who are believers. <<  James 2:19 says, "You believe there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that ..." (NIRV).  So, make yourself worthy of God's Kingdom.  Don't be a liar and a fool.  Believe, AND live in absolute Truth!

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for bringing others into my life who know you.  I know you, God, because I know them.  I found you in them.  Thank you for sending them to me.  I must go down and worship with them.  It is what drives me through my week toward the day of rest that you set aside for us.  Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with each other.  Amen!
